Ragged Rose

Jewellery, and Accessorising

Why pay to have your jewellery cleaned, when you can easily do it yourself? If you’re not confident in your abilities, then read this easy 4 step process.

  1. Rinse your silver jewellery in warm water.
  2. Blot the jewellery dry with a cloth.
  3. Use a silver-cleaning cloth by rubbing the separate pieces gently. You can use a back and forth motion or an up and down motion. Avoid rubbing circularly. Clean using the clean part of your cloth, so you can see when the dirt starts to come off.
  4. If your jewellery has engravements or other types of designwork, then use silver-cleaning paste or polish into the grooves with soft-bristle toothbrush. Again for the main surfaces, rub gently in a back and forth or up and down motion.
